I make sculptural wall pieces comprised of found objects, fiber and wood supports. I use elements of change and impermanence in my work by incorporating parts that move and natural materials that change over time. On occasion, reflective notes bind the verbal with the visual offering another layer of contemplation.
When I am not working on my fiber pieces, I create collages using patterns, photos, found objects and hand-written or printed notes. My inspiration comes from the traditional Japanese aesthetics Wabi-Sabi, contemporary architecture and nature. Making each piece is an intuitive and meditative experience for me.
